Exclusive iRockstar Interview with Jess, the Shot Girl

How did you get into working at the club?

I had been living in New Jersey, when a friend of mine (who was a shot girl at Rockstar), told me I should try working as a shot girl for a night. I came to Rockstar on a Thursday night and had a very productive night, so the following month I moved back to Connecticut and have since been working as a shot girl Tuesday-Saturday….and loving it!! <3

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you while working the floor?

Hmmm….Once, I was doing a lapdance and the guy (who was pretty drunk) punched me in the face, somewhat by accident. lol. Needless to say, the dance ended right then and there, and left me with a fat lip.

Do you get a fair amount of freedom to choose your own music and outfits, or is that often up to management?

I’m a shot girl, so music selection isn’t up to me. As far as what I wear-Shot girls are given a set corsette to wear, but we can spice up our look by choosing any kind of bottoms we want. Usually, I’ll opt for a darker color bottom, and I ALWAYS wear black fishnets. They make me feel sexy and they’ve sort of become my trade mark.

What do you think about the pole-dancing-fad that has entered into the mainstream?

I think it’s great that pole dancing has entered into mainstream. Some of the girls at Rockstar are insanely talented on the pole!! When they go on stage and do all of those crazy tricks on the pole, I just stare in awe. I love love love watching them!! It’s neat that there are now pole dancing classes so other women (and maybe even some men, hahaha) can take a crack at trying to do those tricks.

Do you have to work out a lot to keep in shape? Or is working the floor enough?

Um…I don’t work out….unless you consider eating a workout. lol.

What demographic tips the best, in your experience?

Hmmm…that’s tough to say. Sometimes older gentlemen are more generous when it comes to tipping, but other times that’s not the case. At times I may assume that someone will tip me very well and he doesn’t, then other times I don’t expect a tip and I’m tipped very well.

Where are you from/where was the first place you worked in this industry?

I’m from Waterbury. Rockstar is not only the only strip club I’ve worked in, but also the only strip club I’ve ever been to.

What are the biggest advantages of being a shot girl?

he advantages of being a shot girl are, well first off, my schedule. I usually go into work around 9pm, which gives me the freedom to do as I please during the day. I feel fortunate that meeting new people and sharing my delicious shots is actually my “job”.
