What is a Go Go Dancer?

Go go dancers are hired to dance at bars to entertain the patrons, who are themselves often dancing and drinking.

Usually you’ll find a go go dancer dancing on a table, in a cage (cage dancing), or on the bar. Now why is this different than stripping? Well, typically go go dancers don’t remove their clothing; they may already be dancing in lingerie or a bikini.

Go go dancers often don’t work for tips; instead, they’re usually paid by the nightclub or bar to dance–almost as a background entertainment. At strip clubs, on the other hand, dancers are usually the focus of the club.

The most famous go go bar in the United States is Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, which was where cage dancing was born in the 1960s.

It’s a common theory: women strip to pay for college. These high-brow intellectuals find themselves strapped for cash, so they decide to un-strap their clothes. Was that pun a stretch? Well, whatever. The question is, do women really begin stripping in college to pay for their education, and if so, should you?

Stripping in College: Fact or Fiction?

While I can’t speak for all strippers–or all college girls for that matter–I can share with you a personal anecdote about one of my favorite strippers ever. No, I didn’t meet her in a strip club, and I’ve actually known her for about thirteen years now.

Let’s call her Emily. When I met Emily she was a 23-year-old college Sophomore majoring in Physics. Crazy smart. When she was 20 she started dancing at a local club and did really well. A talent scout for a Tokyo strip club saw her and invited her to dance in Japan.

Emily took the job, and spent a wild summer in Tokyo. When she came back to the States she stripped for awhile longer, saved a ton of money, then put herself through college. Right now she’s finishing up her Med School residency and is officially an M.D.

So yes, stripping in college is a reality for some women. Other girls, not so much. Maybe they’re stripping because it’s fun or because they need to support their families or both. If a girl tells you she’s stripping to pay for college, she might be telling you the truth. Then again, maybe she’s not.

Stripping in College: How to Get Started

It doesn’t have to be a long-term thing, and ten years from now when people ask, you can tell them about how stripping in college is what helped you become a lawyer / accountant / astronaut.

Let’s break it down for you. While the legality of adult clubs varies from state-to-state and country-to-country, they can be broken down into four basic types: strip clubs for men, strip clubs for women, live sex clubs, and swingers’ clubs.

Strip Clubs for Men

While women are welcome at our clubs, we’d consider Rockstar and Hollywood to be–primarily–adult clubs for men. Our female strippers know what men like, and they showcase this when they’re pole dancing, stage dancing, or doing a private dance.

Some strip clubs for men are totally nude, while others are topless adult bars. The laws often differ for nude clubs vs. topless bars, so make sure you know if the club you’re going to sells alcohol (ours do!) or if it’s BYOB.

Strip Clubs for Women

I’ve heard stories that the ladies get pretty rowdy at strip clubs for women. Some adult clubs for women take their cues from the Chippendales, with big productions of burly half-naked men doing choreographed dances and showing off their bow-ties.

If you’re not into that, then there are totally nude clubs for women out there, where the guys get completely naked. These clubs more closely resemble traditional adult clubs for men, only the dudes are the ones taking off all their clothes.

Live Sex Clubs

As far as we know, live sex shows aren’t legal anywhere in the United States, even in Vegas. However, there are plenty of cities around the world that boast live sex adult clubs.

I know of one baby boomer couple that loves to recall a live sex show they witnessed in Amsterdam in the 1970s. Apparently it was quite common back then, and it was often coupled with brewery tours. Imagine getting wasted, then loading up on a tour bus before being dumped into an adult club and watching two people have sex on stage for two hours. Yeah, I’ve heard the story one too many times (give it a rest, Mom and Dad!).

Swingers’ Clubs

Depending on where you live, you may find that your city allows swingers’ adult clubs. While live sex isn’t usually allowed in common areas that serve alcohol, some of these adult swingers’ clubs have what they call “hotel suites” where swinging couples can get it on with like-minded adults.

Other clubs offer special sex chairs and beds, depending on who you are and what you like. The only requirement of most swingers’ clubs is that you’re relatively attractive and physically fit. If you’re interested in hanging out at a swingers’ club it helps to be a young, hot female…

So that about sums it up! While there are several types of adult clubs–Connecticut might only have three of those types–we feel strongly that our adult clubs provide a fun and sexy atmosphere, and cater to a variety of interests. Come in and check out Rockstar and Hollywood!

Originally founded in 1993, the UFC began as a way to showcase mixed martial arts (MMA), and in many ways to determine which martial art was the best. The first UFC (UFC 1) was held in Denver, Colorado and featured Patrick Smith, Kevin Rosier, Gerard Gordeau, Zane Frazier, Ken Shamrock, Teila Tuli, Art Jimmerson, and Royce Gracie.

The History of UFC Rules

Although the UFC touted itself as having no rules, even from the beginning there were several rules to protect–at a minimum–the fighters. Beginning with UFC 12, weight classes were instituted. By UFC 21 gloves were required, time limits were instituted, and groin strikes were banned. Finally, at UFC 28 UFC was sanctioned under the unified rules of NJ’s athletic board.

The Desperate Housewives star told Lopez she’d show off the pole dancing skills Carmen Electra had taught her if the pilot of his programme, Lopez Tonight!, got picked up.

And when the Latino funnyman debuted on Monday, sexy Longoria Parker fulfilled her promise.

Dressed in a sparkly black mini-dress and sporting a new blonde look, the actress shrieked when she realised Lopez had a pole set up on his stage, but insisted she wasn’t dressed appropriately, joking, “You’re gonna see my hoo-ha.”

But the game actress made an attempt, admitting it was more successful than the one she had tried at home on St. Valentine’s Day (14Feb09).

She explained, “Carmen Electra is a friend of mine and she has these stripper poles that she sells, so she sent me a stripper pole for Valentine’s.

“I set it up myself… and I was trying to do the sexy dance for Valentine’s and I got on it to swing and I went `whack’ and I fell, so I never really got to do it.”
